As a student-run organisation, Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show (GUCFS) works tirelessly throughout the year to raise both funds and awareness for our charitable partner, and we are proud to announce that this year, our charitable partner is Glasgow Women’s Aid.
As the largest event run solely by students in Glasgow, in 6 years GUCFS has raised over £85,000 for their chosen charities, raising £34,130.79 for Simon Community Scotland last year. FLVX19 was our most innovative and immersive project to date, with the event being held in SWG3’s Galvanisers, and selling out almost instantly. GUCFS provides students with invaluable experiences and opportunities, and year on year, our annual show continues to be a highlight for students, only continuing to exceed students and the public’s expectations.
As GUCFS’ 6th show, we aim to surpass our previous projects in all aspects. We aim to exceed all previous financial donations, and are committed to raising awareness for Glasgow Women’s Aid and the work they carry out. In Bloom celebrates beauty in the under-represented and unconventional, allowing those who feel ostracised and excluded to draw upon their inner strength and resilience in the face of adversity. Domestic abuse is a taboo subject, and those who experience it can feel isolated. Glasgow Women’s Aid allow for a safe space and offer non-judgemental services for those suffering from domestic abuse. GUCFS is proud to be raising funds and awareness for such an amazing cause.
