ABOUT

GLASGOW CHARITY FASHION SHOW

Celebrating 10 years of GCFS this year, Glasgow’s Charity Fashion Show is one of the largest student-led charity fundraisers in the UK.  Created in 2014, GCFS’s priority has been to raise awareness and financially impact local charities that contribute greatly to society.

Our chosen charity is at the core of what we do.  We focus on raising as much awareness, and as many funds as possible for our chosen charity.  In the 2022/23 academic year, GCFS raised £44,005.20 for the Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis, which was the combined result of the efforts of the Society’s committee, members and the wider Glasgow Community.  Previous charitable partners include Refuweegee, Simon Community Scotland, Glasgow’s Women’s Aid and many many more.

As a society, we ensure that the chosen charity is representative of the society and the wider community, which is why we open charity nominations publicly.  We want everyone to be as passionate about raising money for our charitable partner as possible.

February boasts the main event: The Fashion Show.  Celebrating the creative work of local fashion students; students, alumni, families and friends come together to commemorate the hard work of the GCFS team and continue to fundraise for our respective charity partner.

But that is not all we do.  Starting from freshers week in September, GCFS will be hosting an abundance of events open to Glasgow students. We host a mixture of events including clothes swaps, club nights, bingo nights, workshops, a jailbreak and many more throughout the year with the aim of raising as much money for our charitable partner as possible!  Follow our social media to get all the latest on events, fundraisers, the charity reveal and more.
